Select the pair that has the same relationship as Flower : Garland.

Options for question 19

Show the answer and explanation
CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. State the relationship in order: many flowers joined together make a garland (unit : whole made of such units).

  2. Many links joined together make a chain, in the same order.

  3. Book : Page and Wall : Brick have the right idea in the WRONG order (whole : unit). A thread is not joined up to make a needle.

Worth noting

Reversed order is the most common analogy trap. Say the sentence with the first word first ('many of the first are joined to make the second') and test each pair in that order.
