Show the answer and explanation
CorrectNot quiteAnswer C
Correct answer: C
Explanation
With 40 shirts the median is the average of the 20th and 21st sizes.
Cumulative frequencies: 3, 12, 20, 34, 40.
The 20th shirt is size 40 (cf reaches 20 exactly) and the 21st is size 42.
Median = cm.
Worth noting
40 cm takes only the 20th value. When the cumulative frequency hits exactly, the next value belongs to the next row. 42 cm is the mode and 40.55 cm is the mean.
