CorrectNot quiteAnswer D

Correct answer: D

Explanation

  1. The tap adds 6×60=3606 \times 60 = 360 litres an hour. For a capacity CC: C8−360=C12\frac{C}{8} - 360 = \frac{C}{12}.

  2. C(18−112)=360C\left(\frac{1}{8} - \frac{1}{12}\right) = 360, so C24=360\frac{C}{24} = 360 and C=8,640C = 8{,}640 litres.

Worth noting

144 litres uses 6 litres an hour; the tap's rate is per minute.
