CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. For a distance dd each way: time =d15+d5=4d15= \frac{d}{15} + \frac{d}{5} = \frac{4d}{15}.

  2. Average speed =2d4d/15=7.5= \frac{2d}{4d/15} = 7.5 km/h, which is b2−s2b\frac{b^2 - s^2}{b}.

Worth noting

10 km/h averages 15 and 5 as if the two legs took equal times; the slow leg takes three times as long.
