NTA's press briefing note of 10 May 2026 confirms that CUET (UG) 2026 starts on 11 May 2026 in computer-based mode and runs to 31 May 2026, across India and 14 cities in 13 other countries.
15,68,866 candidates registered, generating about 67.56 lakh test instances across 12,906 subject combinations — an average of 4.31 subjects per candidate. The test is spread over 35 shifts. About 43% of registrations come from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Delhi.
Most opted subjects: English (12.64 lakh), Chemistry (9.51 lakh), Physics (9.14 lakh), General Aptitude Test (9.12 lakh), Mathematics/Applied Mathematics (5.81 lakh) and Biology/Biotechnology (5.56 lakh).
Day 1 (11 May) has 1,24,020 candidates in two shifts. The note also restates the exam-day advisory: printed admit card with self-declaration, two passport photos, the same photo ID uploaded in the form, and a transparent ball-point pen; no phones, watches, calculators or wallets.
