Question 9

EasyOriginal question

Arrange the sentences in the right order to make a paragraph.

P. It began with a march past by all the houses.

Q. At the end of the day, Green House was given the trophy for the most points.

R. The school's annual sports day was held last Friday.

S. After that came the races, and the crowd cheered every runner.

Options for question 9

CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. R opens: it names the event. P follows with "it began", the first part of the day.

  2. S says "after that", so it follows the march past. Q is "the end of the day", so it comes last.

  3. So the order is RPSQ.

Worth noting

RSPQ puts "after that came the races" straight after the first sentence, so "that" points at the sports day before anything has begun.
