The International Big Cat Alliance, whose establishment the Union Cabinet approved in March 2024, works to conserve how many species of big cat?

Explanation

1. 01

The Alliance covers seven big cats: tiger, lion, leopard, snow leopard, cheetah, jaguar and puma.

2. 02

The Cabinet approved its establishment on 12 March 2024. By July 2026 it had grown into a coalition of 95 big cat range and partner countries.

3. 03

Thirteen is a tiger number, not a big cat number: it is the count of tiger-range countries that met at Saint Petersburg in 2010.
