CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. I = 9, C = 3, E = 5, and the code numbers 18, 6, 10 are twice these.

  2. So each letter is written as double its position.

  3. JAM: 2×10=202 \times 10 = 20, 2×1=22 \times 1 = 2, 2×13=262 \times 13 = 26, giving 20-2-26.

Worth noting

12-3-15 adds 2 instead of doubling. For I that would give 11, not 18, so the example rules it out.
