CorrectNot quiteAnswer D

Correct answer: D

Explanation

  1. Headings in order: east, north, east, south, west.

  2. East–west: 3+7=103 + 7 = 10 km east, then 10 km west, so they cancel.

  3. North–south: 2 km north, then 8 km south, leaving 6 km south.

  4. He is 6 km south of home.

Worth noting

With five legs, write the heading of every leg before adding anything. 10 km east forgets the final 10 km west leg; 30 km is the whole walk.
