CorrectNot quiteAnswer D

Correct answer: D

Explanation

  1. SP = ₹4,420 gives a 4% profit, so SP = 104% of CP.

  2. CP = 4420×100104=42504420 \times \frac{100}{104} = 4250, that is ₹4,250.

  3. (The MP, ₹5,200, is not needed to find the CP.)

Worth noting

₹4,243.20 takes 4% off the SP. The profit is 4% of the CP, so divide by 1.04. ₹3,757 wrongly takes the 15% discount off the SP.
