2. The person from Madurai plays badminton.

3. Mehak plays neither kabaddi nor chess.

CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. Clue 1 gives Tenzin = Shillong. Clue 4 rules Pune out for Ishaan and Revathi, so Mehak = Pune.

  2. Clue 5: the chess player is from Pune or Shillong. Mehak (Pune) does not play chess (clue 3), so Tenzin plays chess.

  3. Badminton belongs to the Madurai person (clue 2), and Mehak is from Pune, so Mehak cannot play badminton either: Mehak swims.

  4. Kabaddi and badminton are left for Ishaan and Revathi. Ishaan does not play badminton (clue 6), so Ishaan plays kabaddi and Revathi plays badminton, which makes Revathi = Madurai and Ishaan = Bhopal.

  5. Only Mehak, Pune, swimming matches the grid.

Worth noting

Tenzin is from Shillong, but he plays chess, not kabaddi. A combination is correct only if every part of it is correct.
