CorrectNot quiteAnswer D

Correct answer: D

Explanation

  1. Facing north, the left end is the west end, so Tara is 9th from the west.

  2. Facing south, a person's left hand points east, so the new left end is the east end.

  3. Tara from the east end =25−9+1=17= 25 - 9 + 1 = 17.

Worth noting

9 assumes the left end stays the same after turning. Left and right belong to the direction the people face, not to the ground.
