Options for question 24

Show the answer and explanation
CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. Salma to the right of Rekha: Salma is 7+4+1=127 + 4 + 1 = 12th from the left, so the row has 12+12−1=2312 + 12 - 1 = 23 people.

  2. Salma to the left of Rekha: Salma is 7−4−1=27 - 4 - 1 = 2nd from the left, so the row has 2+12−1=132 + 12 - 1 = 13 people.

  3. Both cases fit every clue, so the row has 13 or 23 people.

Worth noting

23 only is the common answer from forgetting that Salma may stand to Rekha's left. When the stem does not say who is on which side, check both.
