CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. Time must be in years: 10 months = 1012=56\frac{10}{12} = \frac{5}{6} year.

  2. Interest for one full year = 9% of ₹24,000 = ₹2,160.

  3. Interest for 56\frac{5}{6} year = 2160×562160 \times \frac{5}{6} = ₹1,800.

Worth noting

Writing 10 months as 0.10 year gives ₹216, and ₹2,160 is a whole year's interest. A year has 12 months, so 10 months is 10/1210/12 of a year.
