CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. To pass a pole, the train must travel its own length, so the distance is 180 metres.

  2. Speed is 1809=20\frac{180}{9} = 20 metres per second.

  3. Convert with 1 m/s=185 km/h1\ \text{m/s} = \frac{18}{5}\ \text{km/h}: 20×185=7220 \times \frac{18}{5} = 72 km/h.

Worth noting

A pole has no length of its own. Crossing a platform or a bridge would mean covering the train's length plus that of the platform.
