Options for question 60

Show the answer and explanation
CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. f′(x)=1−2x=0f'(x) = 1 - \frac{2}{x} = 0 at x=2x = 2, which lies in [1,e][1, e].

  2. f(1)=1f(1) = 1, f(2)=2−2log⁡2≈0.61f(2) = 2 - 2\log 2 \approx 0.61, f(e)=e−2≈0.72f(e) = e - 2 \approx 0.72. The least is 2−2log⁡22 - 2\log 2.

Worth noting

e−2e - 2 is the value at the right end, which is not the lowest point.
