CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. With speeds 5k5k and 3k3k on a track of length LL, they meet every L2k\frac{L}{2k}, when A has run 5L2\frac{5L}{2}: 2.5 laps.

  2. So the meetings fall at half a lap and at the start, alternately: 2 points, which is 5−35 - 3.

Worth noting

8 is 5+35 + 3, the count for running in opposite directions.
