Admit card and exam city

The CUET (UG) 2026 admit card carries no date in the bulletin: To be announced later on the website, and the date of downloading the Admit Card is announced on the NTA website. It is downloaded by the candidate from https://cuet.nta.nic.in — Admit Cards are not sent by post. You choose up to a maximum of four cities, in order of preference on the application form, but the allotted centre can differ from all four, and the decision of NTA regarding allotment of the City or Centre is final. Carry the printed card, a photo ID, and an extra photograph; nothing else on that list is optional.

When does the admit card come out?

The bulletin does not say. It prints To be announced later on the website against the admit card and the same against To be announced later on the website, and the only address it names for either is https://cuet.nta.nic.in. Nothing on this page, and nothing anywhere else, can turn that into a date.

The card is issued provisionally, subject to the eligibility conditions and receipt of the prescribed fee. That matters more than it sounds: issue of an Admit Card does not by itself mean your eligibility has been accepted.

How is the exam city chosen?

On the application form you select up to a maximum of four cities, in order of preference. The choice is limited to the State of your present address or the State of your permanent address, so a candidate whose two addresses sit in one state may find only one option available.

NTA then allots in order of your preference where it can, but a different city can be allotted for administrative or logistic reasons, and NTA reserves the right to merge one, two or more cities from which very few candidates apply. The rule to plan around is the last one: the decision of NTA regarding allotment of the City or Centre is final.

What can you carry into the examination hall?

You may carry the printed Admit Card with the Self Declaration filled in, a transparent ball point pen, an additional photograph, and an original photo ID.

The photo ID must be any one of: School Identity Card, PAN card, Passport, Aadhaar Card with photograph, e-Aadhaar with photograph, Class 12 Board Admit Card with photograph, or Bank Passbook with photograph. A candidate claiming PwD/PwBD relaxation also carries the certificate issued by the authorised medical officer, and a diabetic candidate may carry sugar tablets or fruit such as a banana, apple or orange, if the candidate is diabetic.

What if the admit card has a wrong detail?

Do not wait for it to be fixed — appear with the Admit Card already downloaded, and report the discrepancy to the Help Line; the number is the NTA Help Line, 011-40759000, between 10.00 A.M. and 5.00 P.M.. The same number is the route if the card will not download at all.

Never edit the card yourself: any intentional change or tampering of the Admit Card is treated as an unfair means practice.

What happens if you reach the centre late?

You are simply not let in: reporting at the centre after the gate closing time means you are not permitted to appear. There is no second shift to move to either — the card fixes your centre, date and shift, and no candidate is allowed to sit on any other. And in no case is a duplicate Admit Card issued at the examination centre, so a card left at home is not recoverable on the day.

What this page cannot tell you

Your centre's address, or your shift. Both are printed on your own admit card and nowhere else; NTA publishes neither in advance.
