CorrectNot quiteAnswer D

Correct answer: D

Explanation

  1. After the opening sentence, Q describes "their roots".

  2. S says what "these tangled roots" do, P gives the 2004 example, and R says scientists "later studied these villages", which leads to "since then" in the closing sentence.

  3. So the order is QSPR.

Worth noting

SQPR says "these tangled roots" before the roots have been described.
