CorrectNot quiteAnswer D

Correct answer: D

Explanation

  1. Let Zoya be zz now. Ibrahim was zz exactly 32−z32 - z years ago.

  2. At that time Zoya was z−(32−z)=2z−32z - (32 - z) = 2z - 32.

  3. Ibrahim now is twice that: 32=2(2z−32)32 = 2(2z - 32), so 4z=964z = 96.

  4. z=24z = 24. Check: 8 years ago Ibrahim was 24 and Zoya 16; 32=2×1632 = 2 \times 16.

Worth noting

16 years is Zoya's age at that earlier moment, not now. Draw a two-row table (then / now) before writing any equation.
