CorrectNot quiteAnswer D

Correct answer: D

Explanation

  1. Let the number be 10a+b10a + b. Then 10a+b=8(a+b)10a + b = 8(a + b), so 2a=7b2a = 7b.

  2. Digits 0–9 force a=7a = 7, b=2b = 2 (or both zero, which is not a two-digit number).

  3. Check the second condition: 72−45=2772 - 45 = 27, the reverse. So the number is 72.

Worth noting

27 is the reversed number. Subtracting 45 gives the reverse, so the ORIGINAL has the larger tens digit.
