Correct answer: A

The Indian Museum in Kolkata was founded in 1814 and is the oldest in the country.
It grew out of the collections of the Asiatic Society of Bengal.
The National Museum in New Delhi is much later, opening after Independence.

Worth noting

The Mumbai museum was called the Prince of Wales Museum until it was renamed, which is why both names appear in older sources.
