CorrectNot quiteAnswer D

Correct answer: D

Explanation

  1. At 5:00 the minute hand is 150∘150^\circ behind the hour hand. The second right angle comes after the minute hand has passed the hour hand and is 90∘90^\circ ahead of it.

  2. So the minute hand must gain 150+90=240∘150 + 90 = 240^\circ.

  3. Time =240÷5.5=48011=43711= 240 \div 5.5 = \frac{480}{11} = 43\frac{7}{11} minutes past 5.

Worth noting

10101110\frac{10}{11} is the FIRST right angle (gain of 60∘60^\circ). 2731127\frac{3}{11} is when the hands coincide. 40 ignores the hour hand's movement.
