CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. H = 8, E = 5, N = 14, and 8+5+14=278 + 5 + 14 = 27, so a word's code is the sum of its letter positions.

  2. CUP: C = 3, U = 21, P = 16.

  3. 3+21+16=403 + 21 + 16 = 40.

Worth noting

41 adds the reverse positions (24+6+11)(24 + 6 + 11), which would give HEN 54, not 27. 80 doubles the sum.
