Show the answer and explanation
CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. Subtracting 2 from every reading subtracts 2 from the mean.

  2. Corrected mean = 31.4−2=29.431.4 - 2 = 29.4 °C.

Worth noting

33.4 °C adds the error instead of removing it. 7.4 °C subtracts the total error of all 12 readings (24 °C) from the mean instead of from the total.
