CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. Alcohol = 0.75×12=90.75 \times 12 = 9 litres, which stays fixed.

  2. For 9 litres to be 60%, the total must be 90.60=15\frac{9}{0.60} = 15 litres.

  3. Water to add = 15−12=315 - 12 = 3 litres.

Worth noting

1.8 litres takes 15% (75−60)(75 - 60) of 12 litres, which is not how dilution works. 15 litres is the final volume.
