CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. 1,080=23×33×51{,}080 = 2^3 \times 3^3 \times 5.

  2. A square factor uses even powers only: 2 to the power 0 or 2, 3 to the power 0 or 2, and 5 to the power 0.

  3. Square factors = 2×2×1=42 \times 2 \times 1 = 4 (they are 1, 4, 9, 36).

Worth noting

Remember 1 is a perfect square factor too. 32 is the total number of factors of 1,080, (3+1)(3+1)(1+1)(3 + 1)(3 + 1)(1 + 1).
