CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. Nikhil = 90×0.8=7290 \times 0.8 = 72.

  2. Farhan = 72×1.2=86.472 \times 1.2 = 86.4.

Worth noting

A 20% fall followed by a 20% rise does not return to 90: the rise is on the smaller number. Net effect = −20+20−4=−4%-20 + 20 - 4 = -4\%, and 96% of 90=86.496\% \text{ of } 90 = 86.4.
