CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. Values at the end of each year: ₹72,000, ₹64,800, ₹58,320, ₹52,488.

  2. Year 5: 52488×0.9=₹47,239.2052488 \times 0.9 = ₹47{,}239.20, the first value below ₹50,000.

  3. So it takes 5 years.

Worth noting

Simple depreciation (₹8,000 a year) would reach ₹48,000 in 4 years, but compound depreciation removes less each year.
