CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. SP = 95% of ₹42,000 = ₹39,900.

  2. SP = 114% of CP.

  3. CP = 39900×100114=3500039900 \times \frac{100}{114} = 35000, that is ₹35,000.

Worth noting

₹34,314 takes 14% off the SP, and ₹36,120 takes 14% off the MP. Profit is 14% of the CP, so divide by 1.14.
