Options for question 66

Show the answer and explanation
CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. Shop X: 3000×0.9×0.83000 \times 0.9 \times 0.8 = ₹2,160.

  2. Shop Y: 3000×0.8×0.93000 \times 0.8 \times 0.9 = ₹2,160.

  3. Multiplication does not depend on order, so the final price is the same.

Worth noting

₹2,100 would need a flat 30%. The two successive discounts equal 28%, whatever the order.
