CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. Scheme P: SI = 12%×2=24%12\% \times 2 = 24\% of ₹10,000 = ₹2,400.

  2. Scheme Q: amount = 10000×(1.11)2=10000×1.2321=1232110000 \times (1.11)^2 = 10000 \times 1.2321 = 12321, so CI = ₹2,321.

  3. Scheme P earns ₹2,400 − ₹2,321 = ₹79 more.

Worth noting

₹121 is only the compounding bonus at 11% (10,000×0.112)(10{,}000 \times 0.11^2). It does not make up for the 1% lower rate over 2 years, which costs ₹200.
