CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. P(12100)2=72P\left(\frac{12}{100}\right)^2 = 72, so P×0.0144=72P \times 0.0144 = 72.

  2. P=720.0144=5000P = \frac{72}{0.0144} = 5000, so the sum is ₹5,000.

Worth noting

The rate must be squared. Dividing by 0.12 only once gives ₹600; squaring 12 but forgetting to square the 100 gives ₹60,000.
