CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. The times differ by 12+8=2012 + 8 = 20 min =13= \frac{1}{3} h.

  2. d50−d60=d300=13\frac{d}{50} - \frac{d}{60} = \frac{d}{300} = \frac{1}{3}.

  3. d=100d = 100 km.

Worth noting

Using 12−8=412 - 8 = 4 minutes gives 20 km. Late and early lie on opposite sides of the scheduled time, so the minutes add.
