CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. Same direction: relative speed = 70−52=1870 - 52 = 18 km/h=5h = 5 m/s.

  2. To pass completely, the faster train covers both lengths: 200+150=350200 + 150 = 350 m.

  3. Time =3505=70= \frac{350}{5} = 70 s.

Worth noting

40 s and 30 s use only one train's length. Overtaking is complete only when the passenger train's last coach clears the goods engine.

Concept
Two trains in the same direction: sum of lengths ÷ difference of speeds
Typical time
