CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. y=x1/2y = x^{1/2}, so dydx=12x−1/2\frac{dy}{dx} = \frac{1}{2}x^{-1/2}.

  2. d2ydx2=12⋅(−12)x−3/2=−14x3/2\frac{d^2y}{dx^2} = \frac{1}{2} \cdot \left(-\frac{1}{2}\right)x^{-3/2} = -\frac{1}{4x^{3/2}}.

Worth noting

14x3/2\frac{1}{4x^{3/2}} drops the minus sign that the power −12-\frac{1}{2} brings down.
