CorrectNot quiteAnswer D

Correct answer: D

Explanation

  1. n+1−n=1n+1+n\sqrt{n + 1} - \sqrt{n} = \frac{1}{\sqrt{n + 1} + \sqrt{n}}, on multiplying top and bottom by n+1+n\sqrt{n + 1} + \sqrt{n}.

  2. The denominator 10+9\sqrt{10} + \sqrt{9} is smaller than 11+10\sqrt{11} + \sqrt{10}, so 10−9\sqrt{10} - \sqrt{9} is larger.

Worth noting

They look equal because each pair is one apart, but square roots grow more slowly as numbers grow.
