CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. Let the number be 10a+b10a + b with ab=18ab = 18.

  2. Subtracting 27 reverses it: 9(a−b)=279(a - b) = 27, so a−b=3a - b = 3.

  3. Digit pairs with product 18: (2, 9), (3, 6), (6, 3), (9, 2). Only 6 and 3 differ by 3 with a>ba > b.

  4. The number is 63 (check: 63−27=3663 - 27 = 36).

Worth noting

36 is the number AFTER the subtraction. The number that loses 27 must have the larger tens digit.
