CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. Main with a starter: 4×3=124 \times 3 = 12 lunches.

  2. Main with a dessert: 4×2=84 \times 2 = 8 lunches.

  3. The two cases cannot overlap, so add: 12+8=2012 + 8 = 20.

Worth noting

24 is 4×3×24 \times 3 \times 2, which gives every lunch both a starter and a dessert. 12 counts only the starter case.
