CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. Fewest boxes means most fruits per box: HCF(405, 675, 540).

  2. 405=34×5405 = 3^4 \times 5, 675=33×52675 = 3^3 \times 5^2, 540=22×33×5540 = 2^2 \times 3^3 \times 5, so HCF = 33×5=1353^3 \times 5 = 135.

  3. Boxes = 405÷135+675÷135+540÷135=3+5+4=12405 \div 135 + 675 \div 135 + 540 \div 135 = 3 + 5 + 4 = 12.

Worth noting

135 is the number of fruits per box, not the number of boxes. Using 45 per box gives 36 boxes, which is not the least.
