CorrectNot quiteAnswer D

Correct answer: D

Explanation

  1. The perpendicular from the centre to a chord bisects the chord.

  2. Half the chord = 172−82=289−64=225=15\sqrt{17^2 - 8^2} = \sqrt{289 - 64} = \sqrt{225} = 15 cm.

  3. Full chord = 2×15=302 \times 15 = 30 cm.

Worth noting

15 cm is only half the chord. Always double at the end.
