Question 24

CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. At a corner the rope sweeps a quarter circle, because the corner angle is 90°.

  2. Grazed area = 14×227×14×14=154\frac{1}{4} \times \frac{22}{7} \times 14 \times 14 = 154 m².

  3. Not grazed = 600−154=446600 - 154 = 446 m².

Worth noting

154 m² is what the goat CAN graze. 292 m² takes a semicircle instead of a quarter circle.
