CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. Each operation keeps 40−440=910\frac{40 - 4}{40} = \frac{9}{10} of the milk.

  2. After two operations: 40×(910)2=40×0.81=32.440 \times \left(\frac{9}{10}\right)^2 = 40 \times 0.81 = 32.4 litres.

Worth noting

32 litres subtracts 4 litres of milk twice; 29.16 litres is the result after THREE operations.
