CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. 72=23×3272 = 2^3 \times 3^2.

  2. In a perfect square every prime has an even power; 232^3 needs one more 2.

  3. 72×2=144=12272 \times 2 = 144 = 12^2.

Worth noting

Multiplying by 3 makes the power of 3 odd; by 4 gives 288, whose power of 2 (25)(2^5) is still odd.
