Options for question 13

Show the answer and explanation
CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. CP of one mango = ₹1,000 ÷ 40 = ₹25.

  2. For 25% profit, SP of one mango = ₹25 × 1.25 = ₹31.25.

  3. Mangoes for ₹1,000 = 1000÷31.25=321000 \div 31.25 = 32.

Worth noting

Cutting the number of mangoes by 25% (to 30) does not give 25% profit. Work with the price of one mango.
