CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. Put t=x2+1t = x^2 + 1, dt=2x dxdt = 2x\,dx; x=0→t=1x = 0 \to t = 1, x=1→t=2x = 1 \to t = 2.

  2. 12∫12t3 dt=12⋅16−14=158\frac{1}{2}\int_1^2 t^3\,dt = \frac{1}{2} \cdot \frac{16 - 1}{4} = \frac{15}{8}.

Worth noting

154\frac{15}{4} forgets the 12\frac{1}{2} from x dx=dt2x\,dx = \frac{dt}{2}.
