CorrectNot quiteAnswer C

Correct answer: C

Explanation

  1. A matrix with 6 elements has order 1 × 6, 2 × 3, 3 × 2 or 6 × 1: 4 orders.

  2. For each order, the six numbers can be arranged in 6!=7206! = 720 ways.

  3. So there are 4×720=2,8804 \times 720 = 2{,}880 matrices.

Worth noting

720 counts the arrangements for one order only; each of the 4 orders gives its own 720.
