CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. πr2h=250π\pi r^2 h = 250\pi, so h=250r2h = \frac{250}{r^2}, and the surface is S=2πr2+500πrS = 2\pi r^2 + \frac{500\pi}{r}.

  2. S′=4πr−500πr2=0S' = 4\pi r - \frac{500\pi}{r^2} = 0 gives r3=125r^3 = 125, r=5r = 5.

  3. Then h=10h = 10: the best tin has its height equal to its diameter.

Worth noting

10 cm is the height at the best shape, not the radius.
