CorrectNot quiteAnswer B

Correct answer: B

Explanation

  1. A cuboid has three pairs of identical faces, so the total surface area is 2(lb+bh+lh)2(lb + bh + lh).

  2. Here lb=8×5=40lb = 8 \times 5 = 40, bh=5×3=15bh = 5 \times 3 = 15 and lh=8×3=24lh = 8 \times 3 = 24.

  3. Their sum is 40+15+24=7940 + 15 + 24 = 79, and doubling it gives 158158 cm².

Worth noting

The 120 on offer is the volume, 8×5×3=1208 \times 5 \times 3 = 120 cm³, which is a different quantity in different units. The 79 forgets to double.
