Question 35

MediumOriginal question

Options for question 35

Show the answer and explanation
CorrectNot quiteAnswer A

Correct answer: A

Explanation

  1. Along the length 20÷4=520 \div 4 = 5 cubes, along the height 8÷4=28 \div 4 = 2 cubes.

  2. Along the width 14÷4=3.514 \div 4 = 3.5, so only 3 whole cubes fit.

  3. Cubes = 5×3×2=305 \times 3 \times 2 = 30.

Worth noting

Dividing volumes (2,240÷64=35)(2{,}240 \div 64 = 35) assumes the cubes can be cut. When one edge does not divide exactly, count along each edge.
